Purpose
The Marketing Lead is responsible for building and delivering the annual marketing/commercial plan and coordinating cross-functional teams to execute it effectively. The role leads category/brand performance analysis, translates insights into action plans, and drives innovation/new product development (NPD) in alignment with the Korea business direction.
This position manages full marketing budget, leads the local Marketing team and ensures appropriate QA checks are embedded in the marketing workflow and partners closely with a QA Specialist within the Marketing function.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Category/Brand Strategy
- Develop short-, mid-, and long-term strategy for assigned categories/brands; define positioning, growth drivers, and portfolio priorities.
Insights & Performance Management
- Lead category/market/shopper/competitor insights and translate into prioritized action plans.
- Own business performance tracking across key KPIs and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
Innovation / New Product Development (NPD)
- Lead ideation and business case inputs; collaborate with project management and relevant functions through the full NPD lifecycle.
- Ensure concepts, claims, and consumer communication are consistent and market appropriate.
Integrated Marketing & Activation
- Partner with the Comms/Media team to plan, develop, and execute activation plans (including digital, social, in-store, PR as applicable).
- Ensure consistency across touchpoints and brand guidelines.
Annual Plan & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead the annual commercial/marketing plan aligned to category/brand strategy and business targets.
- Align stakeholders to keep plans current and ensure NPD/activation plans deliver against priorities
Managing QA
- Ensure a clear QA process and checkpoints are defined for key deliverables (assets, packaging/artwork inputs, digital content, trade materials).
- Support cross-functional alignment (Legal/Regulatory/Comms/Sales) to resolve issues and prevent rework.
Budget management
- Develop and plan the annual marketing budget aligned with overall business objectives, growth targets, and strategic priorities.
- Allocate budget across channels and monitor, analyze its performance
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Marketing team; set objectives and ensure clear ownership and accountability.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or equivalent
- Must have 10+ years of experience in FMCG marketing roles
- Experience in the food (or Food & Beverage) industry is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams
- Business-level Korean and English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and shopper behavior
- Proven ability to lead new product development projects
- Literate in 3rd party market data as well as in internal financial reporting
- Excellent presentation and excel skills
