We are currently seeking an Associate to join our growing Hotels & Hospitality platform with a primary focus on hotel advisory services in South Korea. The role will be based in Seoul, South Korea and will report into our Vice President of Hotels & Hospitality Group in Seoul.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate, highly motivated about adding value and delivering superior results to the team. As an Associate in JLL's Hotels & Hospitality team, you will support client assignments, contribute to project delivery teams, assist in preparing proposals and pitches, support consultancy assignments, and contribute to operator selection projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support client consulting assignments for hospitality developments, investments, and assets under the guidance of senior team members. Assist with managing timelines and communications for client presentations, deliverables, and assignments in both Korean and English.
Contribute to Advisory reports, including buy-side due diligence, market research, development consulting, feasibility studies, operator selection, and hotel valuations.
Support the presentation of assignment outcomes and reports to clients and other stakeholders.
Assist with transaction and advisory due diligence processes including the review and analysis of various documents and financial statements.
Analyze investment market trends and insights to support recommendations to hotel owners and developers on development and divestment strategies.
Conduct financial modelling under supervision, focusing on hotel cash flow projections; cost estimation; DCF / IRR analysis; debt leverage analysis; and sales comparable analysis.
Coordinate with and support communication with third-party vendors in connection with preparation of investment materials and presentations.
Support business development efforts by contributing to new lead generation and project opportunities.
Collaborate effectively with peers across JLL including: Hotels Asia Pacific, Valuation Advisory, Advisory, Work Dynamics, Capital Markets and other service lines.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Three years of consulting or real estate development specific work experience. Hospitality-related experience is recommended.
Native level written and verbal Korean in business settings is required. Professional written and verbal English is required, with strong proficiency preferred.
Experience supporting the delivery of consulting reports for Korean clients.
Understanding of real estate transaction and development related processes and regulations preferred.
Strong skills and experience with PowerPoint project delivery are required.
Experience with analytical and consulting report writing in Korean required.
Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills in team settings.
Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Undergraduate degree in relevant disciplines such as business, hospitality, finance and/or real estate required.
Must be willing to travel in Korea and occasionally within broader Asia.
As a developing Hotels and Hospitality sector specialist, you must be comfortable dealing with people of different cultures and levels across Asia.
You should enjoy working in a dynamic, multi-national environment and be eager to contribute ideas, insights and suggestions on how to improve the way we conduct, present and communicate our expertise. You should embrace the latest available technology tools as leverage to source, prepare and deliver up-to-date, world-class data analytics to both internal and external stakeholders.
