Facilities Engineer
Position Overview:
As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, fire suppression, UPS, STS and other necessary components. Your main objective will be to ensure safety, availability, and uptime of the critical infrastructure in the workplace which includes the IT rooms, trading floors, M&E plant rooms. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, solid problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of managing critical environments.
The Facilities Engineer will be based in Client’s office in Korea and will directly report to the Senior Facilities Manager and work closely with the Regional Engineering, Health &Safety, Sustainability managers in the delivery of engineering services.
The role will require to respond on 24x7 basis, work on after office hours and weekends as and when needed to support the business operations and business continuity.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operation of critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, HVAC, and fire suppression systems in compliance with local regulations and safety standards,
Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance planning and execution to ensure the reliability and availability of critical systems.
Coordinate with the network engineer on the white space management including installation of IT equipment, cabling works among others.
Plan and manage annual power shutdown, facility incidents, workplace user requests.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to critical infrastructure performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and operational risks.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Escort and supervise the works in the critical environment.
Implement and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), equipment specifications, and maintenance records.
Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary controls to mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Manage engineering capex and opex projects, budget planning and cost management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sustainability, health and safety, project, finance) to meet facilities goals and business objectives.
Assist in the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, from design and construction to commissioning and testing.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to critical environments.

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience working in commercial offices manufacturing plants with experience in critical environments, such as data centers, or similar high-availability facilities.
Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
Proficient in using workplace technology tools for planning preventive maintenance, works order management, SharePoints.
Proficiency in using monitoring tools and building management systems (BMS) to monitor and analyze infrastructure performance.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an ability to work under pressure.
Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Good English written and oral communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Proficiency in facility management software/tools , as well as basic computer applications (MS Office, etc.)
