Academic Director (Bilingual: Korean/English)
Epic Academics has a team of experienced tutors who help students succeed through personalized, one-on-one attention. We tutor students in grades K through 12 in school subjects and test prep. We are hiring an Academic Director to join our growing team — both full-time and part-time positions are available. IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is NOT remote. It requires working from Epic's Korea center located in Seoul, South Korea.
Responsibilities
- Help oversee the quality of tutoring programs for enrolled students
- Communicate and collaborate with the Center Director and other center staff regarding students
- Provide tutors with guidance and feedback
- Meet with parents to discuss student progress
- Problem-solve and address any concerns or challenges to ensure a great student experience
- Manage interim/diagnostic testing for students
- Help maintain strong communication with parents and students, including supporting center staff with scheduling needs
- Support daily administrative tasks for the center, including scheduling, phone calls, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in an educational setting for grades 6-12, working with students, parents, and teaching staff
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Committed to providing outstanding customer service with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail while multitasking
- Proficient computer skills (including typing) and experience operating general office equipment
- Ability to address problems and develop solutions professionally with all stakeholders
- Ability to establish rapport with parents and students
- Ability to take ownership of work and see it through to completion
- Must be fluent in both Korean and English (bilingual required)
Candidates must be available to work center hours, which include evenings until 9:30pm on weekdays during the school year, plus one weekend day.
Compensation
If paid in USD: for part-time, $20/hr - $25/hr; for full-time, $35,000 - $45,000/year
If paid in KRW: for part-time, ₩20,000/hr - ₩30,000/hr; for full-time, ₩35,000,000 - ₩45,000,000/year
