Overview:

The Port & Cargo Operations Specialist supports the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of vessel and cargo operations at the assigned ports, primarily Pyeongtaek (KRPTK) and Incheon (KRINC). The role coordinates with vessels, terminals, stevedores, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, compliance with company procedures, effective cargo handling, and continuous improvement in safety, quality, and cost performance. The position reports to the Head of Port & Cargo Operations Korea West.
Job Description:

Coordinate vessel and cargo operations at the assigned ports to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution.
Confirm operational readiness in advance with vessels, terminals, stevedores, agents, surveyors, customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Review stowage plans, cargo information, operational instructions, and resource requirements before vessel arrival.
Monitor cargo operations on-site and promptly escalate safety, quality, operational, or schedule-related concerns.
Ensure that loading, discharging, securing, and cargo-handling activities are performed in accordance with company SOPs, applicable requirements, and agreed operational instructions.
Review handling plans and risk assessments for special, project, oversized, and heavy-lift cargo, and provide operational feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Identify and coordinate the resolution of cargo quality issues, including cargo damage, handling irregularities, and operational non-conformities.
Prepare and maintain accurate operational records, reports, incident documentation, and supporting data.
Support cost control by reviewing operational arrangements, resource utilization, supplier activities, and relevant operational charges.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, terminals, stevedores, vessels, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Support incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and the sharing of lessons learned.
Participate in risk assessments, safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and continuous-improvement activities.
Perform other operational duties and support other ports within Korea West as required.

3 + years of proven experience in the maritime industry, ideally with on-board work or similar experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, maritime related degree is preferred.
