Job Summary
The QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of offshore equipment assembly activities throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs inspections, testing, documentation reviews, and coordination with customers and third-party surveyors to verify that products meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections during the assembly of offshore equipment and systems.
- Conduct inspections of mechanical and hydraulic equipment, including winches, motors, piping systems, and related assemblies.
- Verify proper preservation, handling, and storage conditions of materials and equipment.
- Monitor assembly and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, inspection reports, and quality dossiers.
- Prepare and maintain internal inspection checklists, torque reports, and quality records.
- Witness and verify hydrostatic testing of piping systems, including riser pipes and other applicable piping assemblies.
- Coordinate and arrange inspections with customers, owners, classification societies, and third-party surveyors.
- Perform monitoring, testing, and witness inspections required during offshore equipment assembly processes.
- Prepare quality documentation, inspection records, and final product certification packages, including Certificates of Conformance (COC) and related documentation.
- Support factory acceptance testing and final product acceptance activities.
- Conduct area surveys and installation condition assessments prior to mechanical completion and final acceptance.
Qualifications Required
- Associate degree (2-year college) or higher
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to prepare basic written reports and correspondence in English.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly and inspection processes.
Preferred
- Experience in offshore, marine, oil & gas, or heavy industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), hydrostatic testing, and quality inspections.
- Familiarity with classification society requirements and customer inspection processes.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection documentation.
