Arnold & Porter is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Legal Secretary to join its Seoul office. The Legal Secretary will provide administrative, organizational, and clerical support to attorneys, the Office Manager, and other legal personnel in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit client prebills at attorney direction and process client billing in accordance with firm policies and procedures, with support from the Billing Department.
- Open new client matters; complete client label requests; and coordinate requests for onsite and offsite client files with the Records and Conflicts & Client Intake Departments.
- Arrange attorney travel accurately and efficiently through the firm’s travel provider.
- Enter, edit, and finalize attorney time entries in the firm’s timekeeping system.
- Manage attorney Outlook calendars and assist with scheduling meetings and events
- Coordinate meetings, including reserving conference rooms, ordering meals, arranging necessary technology and audiovisual equipment, and distributing Outlook meeting invitations
- Schedule appointments; answer and route telephone calls professionally; take detailed messages; maintain attorney contact lists; and provide transcription, dictation, and document support.
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and format routine correspondence and other documents.
- Organize and route incoming mail and coordinate conference and video calls.
- Process expenses and invoices through Emburse.
- File correspondence and legal documents electronically and in physical files, ensuring accurate indexing and organization of original legal documents.
Convert documents between PDF and Microsoft Word formats.

Qualifications:
- Four year degree or higher, majoring in English, Administration, or other related fields or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years prior secretarial experience preferred.
- Ability to read, speak and understand English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Minimum of 60+ wpm typing.
- Proficiency in all software used by the Firm (MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Emburse, IntApp Time Entry, iManage, etc.)
- Proficiency with legal terminology and standard legal procedures.
- Excellent administrative and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong database and Internet research skills.Ability to multitask and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.
