Job Summary
Junior Linux Device Driver Engineer is a software engineer responsible for supporting development and maintenance of Linux device drivers and embedded systems on Qualcomm SDX platforms.
The role focuses on learning core driver development, debugging, and system integration under guidance from senior engineers.
This position contributes to product stability and quality while building foundational expertise in embedded Linux and modem systems.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Linux device driver components under support of senior engineers.
- Support debugging and issue analysis across kernel and driver layers.
- Assist in system integration and validation activities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes and team meetings.
- Contribute to code quality improvements and documentation.
- Perform basic testing and validation for driver features.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in embedded software or related field.
- Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming and Linux operating system.
- Understanding of operating system fundamentals (process, memory, drivers).
- Strong willingness to learn embedded systems and debugging.
- Good communication skills and teamwork attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux device driver or kernel development (academic/project level).
- Exposure to embedded systems or hardware interfaces (UART, PCIe, etc.).
- Interest in AI/Edge computing or modem systems.
- Familiarity with Git and software development workflows.
- Familiarity with Yocto, Embedded Linux, or OpenWRT.
