about this team
Finance team works cross functionally with other teams in the business for bookkeeping and financial reporting, as well as works with our auditors and tax representatives for compliances. We work closely with retail teams to support retail business operations, reporting and growth. We also support market expansion in the region from all rounded finance aspects.
core responsibilities
- Manage and be responsible for the financial accuracy of Korea market, through leading the periodic closing processes and overseeing the quality of accounting report packages
- Supervise and coordinate with shared service center in accounts payable functions, including but not limited to vendor payment, staff reimbursement and corporate card program
- Coordinate with Finance teams in HK and Vancouver for the Korea finance controllership function, including but not limited to accounting policy updates, treasury functions & Korea bank relationship maintenance, group policies & procedures localisation
- Prepare the financial statements for internal and statutory reporting requirements
- Handle in-market tax compliances, including but not limited to consumption tax (indirect tax), corporate income tax, withholding tax, business tax and property tax
- Support store operations and related reporting, including but not limited to sales reconciliations with landlords
- Organize and maintain appropriate accounting books and records in Korea
- Lead systems rollout to Korea market
- Handle other tasks as assigned from time to time
qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, with relevant license or qualification is an asset
- 10+ years experience in a similar role, experience with MNC is a plus
- Proficient in Oracles EBS is an asset
- Korean and English proficiency
- Good interpersonal & communication skills and highly professional style
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Be proactive and comfortable working with both local and remote team members
- Be able to develop and maintain a good network of contacts, both inside and outside the organization, with people who can supply information, assistance and support for work related goals
