As a Technical Training Specialist (DCO), you will be responsible for delivering technical training programs focused on IT infrastructure, server hardware, networking equipment, and break-fix operations for Data Center Operations teams. You will manage and conduct initial technical training programs for new hires, ensuring they are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS's sophisticated IT infrastructure within the data center environment.
Key job responsibilities
Training Program Management
- Design and deliver engaging instructor-led training sessions covering IT infrastructure operations, server hardware, networking equipment, and break-fix procedures
- Manage all logistics of Initial Training programs, including scheduling, classroom coordination, and lab space utilization
- Conduct hands-on training on server deployment, rack operations, hardware diagnostics, and component-level troubleshooting
- Maintain and certify instructor qualifications and perform certification observations
- Monitor trainee progress and address any behavioral or policy issues
- Process training completions and maintain accurate training records
Learning Lab Management
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all IT lab equipment and training facilities
- Maintain and optimize training spaces, server racks, networking gear, and break-fix workstations
- Develop and implement SOPs for lab equipment operation including servers, switches, routers, and cabling systems
- Create practical training scenarios that simulate real-world IT hardware failures and break-fix situations
- Support setup and commissioning of new training labs
- Prepare lab equipment and spaces for upcoming training sessions
Program Development & Improvement
- Collaborate with SMEs to develop/update training materials for IT operations
- Identify and implement improvements to training content and delivery methods
- Create training resources for hardware break-fix, network troubleshooting, and server operations
- Stay current with latest technologies and practices
