We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years deep in the world of analog IP and power integrity, and you know that the difference between a chip that works and one that fails often comes down to an EM violation someone missed or an IR drop that surfaced too late. You do not just know the tools, you know what breaks them, what customers get wrong, and how to fix both without making anyone feel like they wasted your time.
Debugging is where you come alive. You can take a customer's messy netlist, a vague error message, and a tight deadline, and turn that into a reproducible test case and a root cause by end of week. You have worked with foundry PDKs, SPICE decks, and DSPF formats enough to spot the issue before the simulation finishes running. Linux is your daily environment, Python or TCL is how you get things done faster, and you have learned that the best support engineers are the ones who can talk to both the customer and the R&D team without losing the thread.
You are comfortable traveling to customer sites in Korea, sitting in their lab, and working through their actual design, not a sanitized example. You care about getting it right, and you care about making sure the customer walks away confident in the tool and the solution.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Provide advanced technical debugging and support for Totem-SC and Totem power integrity tools, working directly with Korean customers onsite and remotely
-
Reproduce customer design flows and environments to investigate complex EM/IR analysis issues, validate tool behavior, and isolate root causes
-
Collaborate with Synopsys R&D teams to drive root cause analysis, submit detailed bug reports, and verify fixes in customer contexts
-
Support certification and evaluation workflows for analog IP using foundry PDKs, ensuring compliance with process requirements and design rules
-
Script automation and flow improvements using Python or TCL to streamline debugging, setup, and validation tasks
-
Extend technical support to global customers as needed, contributing expertise across time zones and geographies
-
Document customer issues, resolutions, and best practices to build internal knowledge and improve future support quality
The Impact You Will Have
-
Enable Korean semiconductor customers to deliver reliable, high-performance analog IP by resolving critical EM/IR analysis issues that block tapeout schedules
-
Improve Totem and Totem-SC product quality by surfacing real-world customer issues and working with R&D to implement fixes that benefit the entire user base
-
Accelerate customer evaluation and certification timelines by providing expert guidance on power integrity flows and foundry-specific requirements
-
Strengthen Synopsys relationships with key accounts in Korea through responsive, high-impact technical support that earns trust and repeat engagement
-
Reduce escalation cycles and support costs by diagnosing and resolving issues faster through deep tool knowledge and scripting automation
-
Influence future product roadmaps by translating customer feedback and use cases into actionable insights for engineering and product teams
-
Build a knowledge base of common issues, workarounds, and best practices that scales support efficiency across the global team
What You'll Need
-
Deep understanding of analog IP EM/IR analysis methodologies, including current density limits, voltage drop analysis, and electromigration failure mechanisms
-
Hands-on experience with power integrity tools such as Totem, Totem-SC, or equivalent EDA platforms for parasitic extraction and power analysis
-
Proficiency in SPICE simulation and netlist debugging for analog and mixed-signal designs, including interpreting DSPF/SPF parasitic formats
-
Strong Linux command-line skills and scripting experience in Python or TCL for automation, data processing, and flow setup
-
Familiarity with foundry PDKs and certification flows for advanced process nodes, including design rule checks and IP qualification requirements
-
Ability to travel to customer sites in Korea and work onsite as needed to support critical projects and build customer relationships
-
Experience working with global R&D or support teams, with the ability to document technical issues clearly and drive resolution across time zones is a plus
Who You Are
-
You can take a vague customer complaint and turn it into a reproducible test case with a clear path to resolution, not just a workaround
-
You stay calm when a customer is frustrated and a deadline is tight, and you know how to prioritize what matters most without losing sight of the details
-
You communicate technical tradeoffs and debugging steps clearly to customers who may not know the tool as well as you do, without talking down or oversimplifying
-
You are resourceful enough to dig through sparse documentation, old scripts, and unfamiliar codebases to find the answer when it is not obvious
-
You follow through on what you commit to, whether that is a bug report to R&D, a customer update, or a script you promised to deliver by Friday
-
You learn quickly and adapt to new tools, new processes, and new customer environments without needing everything spelled out in advance
