The role owns end-to-end Trade Investment planning, governance and performance management, including AOP development, forecasting, spend accountability, approvals, and pre- and post-investment measurement and evaluation.
By combining customer, market, commercial and financial insights, the role identifies actionable growth opportunities, improves investment ROI and constructively challenges existing approaches to enhance overall business performance. This role reports to the RGM/Commercial Excellence Lead and works closely with Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Marketing, Channel Activation, and regional and global RGM teams.
Role Responsibilities
Revenue Growth Management and Commercial Planning
Identify and prioritise revenue and margin growth opportunities across price, promotion, pack, channel, portfolio mix and trade terms.
Develop recommendations balancing volume, NSV, gross profit, margin, CAAP, price/mix and market share.
Translate RGM opportunities into actionable commercial, channel and customer plans through cross-functional business planning.
Trade Investment Management and Governance
Lead customer and trade investment allocation by channel, customer and brand.
Review and optimise commercial activation and investment plans with Customer Marketing and Sales teams.
Maintain effective Trade Investment architecture across Wholesale, Off-Trade, On-Trade and eCommerce.
Ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards while improving investment efficiency and ROI.
Pricing, Promotion and Portfolio Strategy
Establish channel- and brand-level guardrails covering pricing, promotions, assortment, trade terms and pack-price architecture.
Ensure strategies are commercially sound, financially viable and compliant.
Embed agreed guidelines across relevant commercial teams through end-to-end planning processes.
Monitor execution and recommend corrective actions where required.
Performance Management and Measurement
Lead pre- and post-investment M&E to assess commercial impact and financial returns.
Monitor commercial plan performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend course corrections.
Develop performance reporting and dashboards covering key commercial and financial metrics.
Apply M&E learnings to future commercial and customer plans.
Innovation Commercialization
Lead the commercial assessment and launch readiness of innovation initiatives, including pricing, channel strategy, volume potential, investment requirements and financial viability.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Supply and Finance to translate innovation plans into executable customer and channel plans.
Track post-launch performance and recommend corrective actions to improve distribution, rate of sale and profitability.
Experience / skills required
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages
Demonstrated experience (4+years) & in-depth understanding of RGM Strategy & levers (Headline Pricing, Promotional Effectiveness and Trade Terms, Pack and Format Architecture, and Trade/Portfolio Mix) and impact of changes on value chain
Demonstrated commercial experience (8+ years) in finance, category/commercial insights, and/or sales, ) with strong commercial and financial acumen
Ability to influence, lead and build relationships across different levels and functions; (Finance, Marketing and Commercial teams)
Problem-solving & strategic agility; ability to think through issues and find practical solutions at pace
Needs to understand route to market complexities and TBA sales in a regulated landscape as well as markup/margin structure of beverage alcohol (or similar regulated categories)
Strong commercial and financial acumen and a solid understanding of key business and P&L drivers.
Advanced Excel skills, with proven experience in analysing large and complex datasets, building commercial or financial models, and translating data into actionable business insights.
Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, Finance or related field
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate proactively with regional and global teams.
Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualisation tools is preferred.
