Electrical Engineer (Contractor)
Responsibilities
Support electrical basic engineering, detailed engineering, and field engineering activities under the guidance of project and discipline leads. Assist in electrical design reviews and support vendor qualification, audit, and technical evaluation activities. Participate in shop inspections of electrical equipment including substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, local control panels, and rotating equipment. Support the preparation and coordination of electrical documents required for local permits and regulatory approvals. Coordinate with overseas electrical engineers, contractors, vendors, and local authorities as required for project execution. Support & lead commissioning and start-up activities including loop checks, functional testing, troubleshooting, and field construction support. Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to resolve interface issues and support project objectives. Assist in tracking engineering progress, project deliverables, design changes, and resource requirements for assigned tasks. Support the preparation, review, and update of engineering standards, specifications, procedures, work practices, and technical documentation. Support & lead with engineering, construction, and installation activities associated with plant modifications, expansions, and new projects. Participate in Design Hazard Reviews (DHR), safety reviews, HAZOPs, and other project risk management activities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Self-motivated individual with good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Good English communication skills (spoken and written) and proficiency in standard PC software applications (MS Office, etc.). Experience in electrical engineering design, construction, commissioning, or maintenance in industrial facilities is preferred. Basic understanding of engineering standards, specifications, codes, and electrical safety requirements. Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary and multicultural project teams. Familiarity with electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, UPS systems, and power distribution systems. Ability to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision and maintain high-quality work standards. Understanding of construction practices, equipment installation, and commissioning activities is preferred.
Professional Electrical Engineer license, Electrical Construction License, or equivalent electrical certification is preferred
