선임 프로듀서는 한국어 데스크의 시각 및 음향 멀티미디어 출력물 전체를 총괄합니다. 일일 뉴스 시청각 제작의 품질 관리부터 복잡한 크로스플랫폼 탐사 보도 프로젝트를 이끕니다. 멀티미디어 제작 분야 최고의 기술 최고 책임자 역할을 수행하며 멀티미디어 제작을 담당하는 프로듀서들의 제작 기법을 지도하고 멘토링합니다.

2. 복합 제작 및 기술 총괄 (Complex Production & Technical Authority)

We broadcast in nine languages and dialects — Mandarin, Cantonese, Tibetan, Uyghur, Burmese, Vietnamese, Lao, Khmer, and Korean — reaching audiences across China, North Korea, Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia, Laos and beyond via shortwave, satellite, and the internet. Job Summary
The Senior Producer oversees the full scope of the language service multimedia output - from quality oversight of daily news audio-visual production to leading complex cross-platform investigative reporting and feature projects. Under the Editor in Charge, this role establishes multimedia production workflows, ensuring quality standards for transforming news materials into platform-publishable deliverables across website, social media, broadcast audio, audio-visual podcast, and live streaming.
The Senior Producer is the highest-level individual contributor in multimedia production for the language service, serving as the internal authority on digital production and mentoring Producer I and II staff. The Senior Producer does not have formal personnel management authority but is responsible for guiding the daily work and professional development of Producer I and II staff.
Key Responsibilities
Production Standards and Workflows

Under the direction of the Editor in Charge, establish and maintain the language service multimedia production workflows, governing how news materials are transformed into platform-publishable deliverables.

Ensure technical and editorial quality standards across all platform outputs, covering website news packages, social media video, broadcast audio, and audio-visual podcasts, in alignment with company quality and journalistic standards.

Evaluate and recommend the introduction of new production tools, formats, and platforms; lead pilots and drive implementation.

Establish freelance collaboration standards and a core roster of freelancers; directly commission large-scale or high-specification production projects and provide the framework for Producer II daily freelancer coordination.
Complex Production and Technical Authority

Lead the highest-complexity news audio-visual productions, including cross-departmental, multi-cycle investigative reporting and large-scale features.

Serve as the highest technical authority for complex studio and on-location productions, including multi-camera setups, full studio builds, and challenging on-location environments.

Design studio lighting schemes, specifying fixture types, wattage, rigging methods, and control systems.

Responsible for the technical architecture design and final technical decision-making for live streaming, ensuring broadcast quality for live news coverage and programs.

Oversee broadcast audio workflows including multitrack recording, mixing, mastering, and final deliverable submission.
Quality Oversight

Oversee the quality of the language service daily news audio-visual output, ensuring Producer I and II deliverables meet RFA editorial and technical standards.

Review and provide final approval before major production deliverables are published.

Oversee complex post-production processes including advanced color grading, image processing, and motion graphics production.
Strategic Recommendations

Continuously track developments in audio-visual and digital media, providing multimedia production strategy recommendations to the Editor in Charge.

Support the Editor in Charge in planning the language service long-term multimedia development direction.
Mentorship and Talent Development

Actively mentor junior Producer staff, providing structured feedback on production techniques, platform strategy, script development, and career growth.

Support Producer II designates preparation, ensuring familiarity with Senior Producer-level scope of work and decision-making.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Film, Communications, Journalism, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional multimedia production experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross-platform news productions in a senior or lead production role. A portfolio demonstrating impact, depth, and versatility is required when submitting your application.

Proven experience establishing, documenting, and managing end-to-end multimedia production workflows in a newsroom or broadcast environment.

Expert proficiency in camera systems, professional lighting design, broadcast audio, and post-production workflows, with the ability to serve as the highest technical authority on complex studio and on-location productions.

Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, with mastery of the full post-production workflow from rough cut to final platform-specific deliverable.

Deep knowledge of broadcast audio workflows, including multitrack recording, mixing, mastering, and final deliverable submission across broadcast and digital platforms.

Demonstrated experience leading the highest-complexity productions, including cross-departmental investigative features, large-scale news programs, and live or near-live streaming productions.

Proven ability to set, enforce, and continuously improve technical and editorial quality standards across website, social media, broadcast, and podcast outputs, with a track record of coaching production staff to meet those standards.

Proven experience building and managing a roster of freelance photographers, videographers, and multimedia production partners, including establishing collaboration standards and commissioning high-specification projects.

Strong ability to monitor trends in digital and audio-visual media and translate insights into actionable multimedia production strategy recommendations for senior editorial leadership.

Demonstrated experience evaluating, piloting, and implementing new production tools, formats, and platforms within a newsroom or broadcast environment.

Proven track record of mentoring and developing junior and mid-level producers, providing structured technical guidance, production feedback, and career development support.

Professional proficiency in Korean language.
Preferred Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience in broadcast control room operations in live or near-live environments, including full production console operation, integrated graphics systems, and broadcast automation systems.

Experience as a senior technical camera operator or producer in broadcast television or a major digital news organization.

Familiarity with shortwave and digital broadcast transmission standards and workflows.

Experience working in an international, public, or diaspora media environment

Possession of valid work authorization for South Korea is highly advantageous for this role.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
This position is hybrid, with three days in-office and two days remote weekly. Work is sedentary, performed at a desk using standard office equipment, with occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
