Overview:
The Customer & Cargo Coordination Analyst is responsible for coordinating cargo bookings and customer requirements to maximize customer satisfaction, optimize vessel utilization, and support profitable trade operations. The role serves as a key link between customers, Sales, Capacity Management, Stowage Planning, and Operations teams to ensure smooth cargo execution and service delivery.
Job Description:
- Coordinate cargo bookings to fulfill customer commitments and optimize vessel capacity utilization.
- Monitor space availability and proactively identify solutions for cargo allocation challenges.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding booking status, cargo inquiries, and service-related matters.
- Develop and manage cargo allocation plans in alignment with capacity management requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Capacity Management, Stowage Planning, Port & Cargo Operations, and Terminal Operators.
- Support customer forecasting, volume monitoring, and cargo delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate booking, cargo, and charging information in company systems.
- Compile final booking and load lists and coordinate with Terminal and Operations teams.
- Monitor customer KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in resolving operational issues, customer escalations, and service recovery activities.
- Support trade profitability through effective cargo coordination and planning.
- Ensure system solutions, EDI interfaces, and internal processes function as intended and support implementation of new solutions.
- Support customers and operational requirements in line with the Japanese business calendar, including occasional work on Korean national holidays when required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, customer service, transportation planning, or related industries.
- Fluent Japanese language proficiency and business-level English communication skills.
- Strong understanding of ocean transportation, vessel operations, and logistics processes.
- Understanding of the automotive and/or heavy equipment industry is preferred.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and internal coordination skills.
- Ability to balance customer requirements with trade efficiency and operational constraints.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing business conditions.
- Good computer literacy and proficiency in operational systems.
