Laplacian Way
About Us
Headquartered in Seongnam, we're an AI startup building frontier products for global markets. Small team, zero tolerance for mediocrity, moving fast.
How We Work
Skill is the bare minimum. What sets us apart is what comes next.
Product is our north star. Where we're going, what we build, how we define success — all of it flows from the product. Not tech for tech's sake. End-to-end systems that run on a real customer floor and move real business KPIs. That's why we exist.
Technology is what makes the product possible. Making manufacturing and logistics fully autonomous is how we win. Engineering is the center of gravity — everything else exists to serve it.
People are what make the technology and the business real. That's why people come first. The people we hire don't draw lines around their scope or their title. They find the work, close the gaps, and see it through. Ambiguity is room to operate, not a reason to stall. Problems get solved by people who just execute.
We hire people who put the product ahead of ego, title, and turf. If changing their role, ownership, or team structure helps the product win, they change it. No politics. No empire-building. Just what makes the product win.
Speed, speed, speed. We ship, we learn, we ship again — faster than feels comfortable.
About the Role
As a Robotics Hardware Intern at Laplacian Robotics, you will work hands-on across the full hardware development cycle of our robotic systems. From sketching out a gripper concept in CAD, printing it on our 3D printers, and stress-testing it on the bench, to figuring out how to mount a new sensor cleanly onto a robot arm — you will be in the middle of it all. You will help refine the mechanical design of our robot arms, run performance tests on our robot hands, and own the practical side of hardware: sourcing parts, placing orders, and coordinating with external manufacturers to make sure the right components show up at the right time. This role is built for someone who learns by making, iterates fast, and enjoys turning rough ideas into physical hardware that actually works. You will work closely with our engineering team and see your designs go from a CAD file to a part that ends up on a real robot.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design 3D models of robotic components (grippers, mounts, brackets, end-effectors) using CAD tools, and rapidly prototype them with in-house 3D printers
-
Design mounting structures and integration solutions for various sensors (force/torque, tactile, vision, IMU, etc.) on our robotic platforms
-
Contribute to the detailed mechanical design of robot arms, taking concepts from early-stage ideas to manufacturable hardware
-
Plan and execute performance tests on robot hands — defining test setups, running experiments, measuring metrics (grip force, precision, durability), and documenting results
-
Manage hardware logistics end-to-end: sourcing components, placing purchase orders, coordinating with external manufacturers and machine shops, and tracking incoming parts
-
Iterate quickly between design, build, and test cycles, and feed learnings back into the next revision
Requirements
-
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or a related field
-
Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD tool (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or equivalent)
-
Hands-on experience with 3D printing (FDM required)
-
Strong hands-on mindset — you enjoy building, breaking, and rebuilding physical things
-
Fast execution and solid problem-solving instincts
Preferred Qualifications
-
Project experience with robotic grippers, manipulators, or actuators
-
Experience with SLA, SLS, or other advanced 3D printing processes
-
Experience integrating sensors (IMU, force/torque, tactile, etc.) into mechanical systems
-
Basic electronics and wiring skills
-
Familiarity with Python or C++
-
Experience with component sourcing and BOM management
-
A portfolio of personal projects, club work, or competition results showing robotics or mechatronics hardware you have built
