Role Summary – Field Application Engineer (FAE)
This role supports Teradyne Semiconductor Test Business, focusing on:
AI / HPC (High Performance Computing)
Mobile Application Processors (MAP)
MCU (Microcontroller Unit)
Core Mission
Deliver test application solutions
Provide technical support to semiconductor customers (manufacturers / fabless companies)
Act as a technical interface between Teradyne and customers
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Solution Development
Design and implement test application solutions
Solving complex digital test problems
Apply strong fundamentals in:
Digital electronics
Test methodologies
2. Customer Support & Engagement
Work directly with:
High-complexity semiconductor device customers
Design companies (e.g., fabless)
Provide:
Technical troubleshooting
Application optimization support
3. Independent Problem Solving
Work with general direction (low supervision)
Independently:
Define problem-solving approaches
Develop solutions
Deliver outputs reviewed at:
Milestone checkpoints (not continuous supervision)
4. Innovation & Complexity Handling
Handle wide range of difficult test issues
Deliver solutions that are:
Practical
Thorough
Basic Qualifications
1. Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Electronics Engineering
Computer Engineering / Computer Science
2. Experience & Skills
Mandatory / Core
3+ years of Test Application Engineering experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to:
Document clearly
Present technical content effectively
Preferred Skill Level
English: Intermediate or above
Project Management: Intermediate or above
3. Technical Knowledge
(1) Electronics
Strong Digital Signal knowledge
(2) Test Engineering Knowledge
