AWS Global Sales Operations (GSO) is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to serve as the strategic operations partner for the AI business (AI STO) and Specialist teams in Korea. This role functions as the COO-equivalent for the AI & Specialist organization, ensuring operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and scalable growth across the fastest-growing segments of AWS Korea.
The AI STO & Specialist teams engage directly with strategic customers to provide deep subject matter expertise in AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, Migration & Modernization, Security, Networking, and other specialized domains. As the Operations Manager, you will be the critical business partner to sales leadership — owning the rhythm of the business, driving pipeline growth strategies, and enabling leaders to focus on customer engagement and revenue generation.
This is a forward-looking, tech-enabled operations position that goes beyond traditional business as a usual operation management. You will lead the strategic definition of key sales strategy and support systems and processes — including the identification and adoption of AI and Cloud market opportunities and required capabilities — to meet the rapid growth trajectory of the AI and Cloud business and achieve revenue and market development objectives.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic operations owner and business partner to AI STO & Specialist sales leadership, driving operational rigor and enabling leaders to focus on most strategic growth vectors
- Own end-to-end business cadences including Annual Planning, MBRs (2x2), QBRs, territory design, quota setting, headcount management, and compensation plan execution
- Drive pipeline inspection and growth strategies, identifying and resolving stalled opportunities to maximize revenue potential across AI STO and Specialist domains
- Develop and maintain standardized reporting and insights (KPIs, goal tracking, trend analysis) that support data-driven decision-making for senior leadership
- Identify, adopt, and champion AI-powered productivity tools and automation — including Salesforce, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon Q, and Internal GenAI-based analytics — to streamline workflows and surface insights at speed and scale
- Define and execute go-to-market strategy in partnership with sales leadership, ensuring cross-divisional alignment between AI STO, Specialist, and account teams
- Establish and refine coverage model design, territory alignment, and account assignment processes
- Lead cross-Geo collaboration with APJ AI/Specialist operations teams to share best practices, align on global standards, and drive consistent execution
- Develop routine and ad-hoc analytic reports for senior management on business performance, goal attainment, and market trends
A day in the life
On a typical day, you will partner with AI STO and Specialist sales leaders to review pipeline health, inspect key opportunities, and provide data-backed recommendations. You will facilitate business review meetings for current performance on input (i.e., pipeline), strategic initiatives (i.e., Top accounts), and output (i.e., revenue) metrics, monthly revenue forecasting and headcount management, and work with planning team on territory and quota adjustments.
You will flex between standing operational processes — such as weekly pipeline reviews and monthly business cadences — and ad-hoc problem-solving when priorities shift or new AI business opportunities emerge. Your work brings predictability and transparency to a fast-growing portfolio, enabling leadership to make faster, better-informed decisions.
You will also spend time evaluating and implementing new AI-powered tools and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual workload, and accelerate insight generation for the team.
