The team helps sellers to market their products across the 7 markets and provide enabling services such as cross border logistics, operations, payments, product related services, overseas warehouse fulfillment and business intelligence. About the Team:

The PR Manager (Korea & Japan) will lead strategic communications efforts to strengthen Shopee’s brand and business reputation across both markets. This role requires a strong media operator and storyteller who can build meaningful journalist relationships, drive impactful coverage, and position PR as a key lever for business growth. Based in Seoul, this role will work closely with Marketing, Seller Acquisition, Regional PR, and leadership teams.

이커머스 시장을 선도하는 쇼피에서 한국 및 일본 시장의 커뮤니케이션 전략을 리드할 PR Manager를 찾고 있습니다. 본 포지션은 각 시장의 특성을 깊이 이해하고, 전략적인 미디어 관계 구축과 스토리텔링을 통해 쇼피의 비즈니스 가치를 효과적으로 전달하는 핵심 역할을 수행합니다. 마케팅, 셀러 조직, 리더십 팀 등 다양한 스테이크홀더와 긴밀히 협업하며 PR의 역할을 확장하고, 브랜드 영향력과 비즈니스 성장을 함께 이끌어갈 커뮤니케이션 전문가의 지원을 기다립니다.

Job Description:

1. Strategic Communications & Positioning

Develop and execute PR strategies aligned with business priorities across Korea and Japan
Position Shopee as a leading cross-border eCommerce platform
Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all PR & marketing communications

2. Media Relations & Journalist Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media across business, tech, and trade publications
Lead proactive media outreach, story pitching, and coverage planning
Drive regular journalist engagement through briefings and 1:1 meetings

3. Ad-hoc PR Events & Press Engagement

Plan and execute offline PR initiatives such as press conferences and journalist meetings
Manage end-to-end execution from concept to media coverage
Ensure strong media participation and post-event amplification

4. Content, Messaging & Executive Communications

Develop high-quality PR materials including press releases, messaging frameworks, and media briefs
Identify compelling story angles tied to business, market trends, and seller success
Support leadership visibility through interviews, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership
Prepare executive briefing materials and talking points
Manage sensitive issues and ensure timely, strategic responses

한국 및 일본 시장의 비즈니스 목표에 맞는 PR 전략 수립 및 실행
쇼피를 선도적인 크로스보더 이커머스 플랫폼으로 포지셔닝
홍보 마케팅 캠페인 전반에 걸쳐 일관되고 설득력 있는 메시지 관리

2. 미디어 관계 및 기자 커뮤니케이션

주요 경제지, 테크, 산업 매체 등 Tier 1 미디어와의 관계 구축 및 유지
미디어 대상 피치 및 커버리지 기획/확보

3. PR 이벤트 및 언론 대응

기자간담회 등 오프라인 PR 이벤트 기획 및 실행
기획부터 실행, 미디어 커버리지까지 운영
이벤트 이후 미디어 확산 및 후속 커버리지 관리

4. 콘텐츠, 메시징 및 경영진 커뮤니케이션

보도자료, 메시지 프레임워크, 미디어 브리프 등 PR 콘텐츠 제작
시장 트렌드 및 셀러 사례 기반 스토리 발굴 및 기획
경영진 인터뷰, 스피치 기획 및 서포트
경영진 브리핑 자료 및 메시지 개발
이슈 발생 시 신속하고 전략적인 대응

Requirements:

4+ years of experience in PR, corporate communications, or related fields
Strong media relations experience with major Korean outlets
Proven ability to build and manage journalist relationships
Experience leading PR campaigns and media events
Strong storytelling and communication skills
Fluent in Korean and English
