Job Summary
As a Junior Linux Application Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Linux‑based modem solutions using Qualcomm chipsets. Reporting to the SW3 Team Leader, you will support application development, board bring‑up activities, and modem functionality verification while growing your technical depth in cellular modem technologies.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for cellular modem solutions based on Qualcomm chipsets.
- Implement Linux-based applications/services for modem control and data communication.
- Support board bring‑up, hardware interface validation, and initial system debugging.
- Assist with firmware download processes, flashing automation, and tool usage.
- Participate in issue analysis for modem connectivity, protocol stack behavior, and data throughput.
- Support security-related tasks for cellular modem development, including vulnerability analysis and mitigation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to manage deliverables and execute project plans.
- Conduct debugging, code review, and performance optimization under guidance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux development.
- Experience in programming within Linux environments, particularly with C/C++.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- A team player who values collaboration.
- Ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cellular modem development.
- Understanding of embedded systems and communication protocols.
- Knowledge or experience with modem technologies.
- Interest in modem security or secure boot technologies.
- Experience with Qualcomm tools (QXDM, QPST) or modem log interpretation.
- Knowledge of LTE/NR/RedCap or communication protocols.
- Experience with Yocto, Embedded Linux, or OpenWRT.
- Experience with Git, automation tools, or scripting (Python/Shell).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
